Good Morning Everyone,
I come this morning with heavy heart for what is going on in Chicago. There is an online newsletter called “The Black Star Project”.  Phillip Jackson is the Founder/ Executive Director of The Black Project. He has educated me over the years about the alarming statistics about the raising issues concerning black men in the United States. It has truly opened my eyes to what is going on in this world across states. People are not really aware of the blessings they have to get up in their community, take a walk down the street, let their children play outdoor, feel safe in their homes. Seems like little things, but for some people they live in fear everyday of their lives because of crime and their surrounds conditions they are not able to ever feel safe. My heart is heavy just thinking of how that would feel to have to live like that. Chicago Illinois, is really facing some tough times and my prayers are with families and I pray for Phillip Jackson who is doing some wonderful work in educating the world of what is going on and providing solutions for problems that are happen in his community. I also love the fact he is recognizing the awesome things that are happen too. This week I choose to add Chicago Illinois and the Black Star Project for all the hard work, dedication and education Phillip Jackson is providing through his Black Star Project newsletter and work in his community. We need more men in our communities taking charge to help the young men in their lives. Good Morning Everyone,
This was a very interesting week. A very special woman asked me to be her mentor. This amazing woman has a huge heart and has started a community center in her community.   I was very moved by her looking to me for mentorship.  There is one thing that I have been blessed with in life, and that has been some awesome mentors in my career.  To have the opportunity to be asked by someone to be their mentor is very humbling. I have been mentored by some of the most powerful and knowledgeable leaders in my community and I am so thankful and blessed. The one thing that one of my mentors asked of me was the knowledge he share with me, that I would reach back and help other along the way.  I am so proud that I had a chance to share with him that not only was I willing to share the knowledge he had given me, but  I was passionately willing  to do it because my heart  desired to help others. Through GOD’s grace and all the blessings I received, it is just a nature thing that one should be willing to share with others in what they were blessed to have given to them.  I really look forward to helping others in sharing the knowledge that others have share throughout my life.  I continue to have mentors in my life to guide me through life’s challenges. It is the greatest gift to have others shares what GOD has blessed them with and to give back. So this week I would like to add sharing knowledge with others. How powerful the world would be if people would share their knowledge and reach back to help others along the way in life.

Good Morning Everyone,
This was such a busy week, it was truly and overload of responsibilities for me. So much to get done and not enough time to get it done. Well I, made it through this week and today I am happy and excited to be catering my niece’s Graduation Party. She graduated from Kutztown University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Molecular/Micro Cell and on the Dean’s List. I am so proud of her, she is a very special young lady who is going to do greater things in life, as she already has done this far.  I will add Strength to this week prayer list. Sometimes it is rough and we just need to pray for strength to get through the busy times in our lives.

Good Morning Everyone,
This week was a very interesting week. We took our Teens Against Tobacco Use Group of middle school and high students to Capital in Harrisburg PA, on a field trip for Advocacy Day.  This is a one-day event held at Pennsylvania’s State Capitol for individuals to come together and meet with legislators to provide education on important tobacco control issues throughout the Commonwealth. Lung.  Our students were there to support the Clean Indoor Air Act.
Below is information about the Clean Indoor Act::
Clean Indoor Air
“Clean indoor air” refers to the type of air that we all want and deserve to breathe: Air that is free of secondhand smoke.
“Scientific evidence indicates that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke,” said the U.S. Surgeon General in his 2006 report, The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke.
The facts about secondhand smoke
– In 1993, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classified secondhand smoke as a Group A carcinogen meaning it definitely causes cancer in humans.
– Secondhand smoke contains several thousand chemicals, including 200 poisons and more than 50 chemicals that cause cancer.
– Secondhand smoke is a leading cause of preventable death killing more than 53,000 nonsmokers nationwide each year, including more than 3,000 Pennsylvanians.
Respiratory ailments, including more frequent and severe asthma attacks.
– Secondhand smoke increases the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and low birth weight, as well as, ear infections and asthma.  If you would like to learn more about the clean indoor act, check out http://pactonline.org/clean-indoor-air.
After learning so much about tobacco use and how hard is to pass laws to remove from ALL public places.  I choose to add Tobacco Free in ALL public places and to have the Clear Indoor Air Act to pass into law. Delaware has just passed the Clean Air Act for ALL public places to be smoke free and Pennsylvania can do it too. We are losing too many lives to lung cancer.
